Presented by the Ontario Association of Architects
Regional Group was presented with the 2018 Brownie Award in the RENEW Category for the Best Project Development on a Neighbourhood Scale.
This award, presented by the Ontario Association of Architects, was granted based on Greystone Village’s transformation of, its reintegration with, and the resulting reinvigoration of the surrounding neighbourhoods.
Kathleen Kurtin, OAA, presents the RENEW award to Erin O’Connor, Regional Group, and Paul Smolkin, Golder.
Criteria for the award include:
- Stimulate neighbourhood-scale reinvestment
- Use adaptive reuse of heritage and other structures to encourage integrated multi-phased redevelopment
- Demonstrate high levels of collaboration; inspire many land owners and investors to engage with community support of a shared vision
- Promote comprehensive neighbourhood transformation by re-envisioning the public realm, and improving functionality, liveability and character
