Clarence Crossing is a 500-acre master-planned recreational and active lifestyle community sited on the edge of the Ottawa River in the City of Clarence-Rockland. This “village” styled plan welcomes both residents and pedestrian traffic to wander through the community to enjoy the recreational offerings and access to the waterfront.

This new riverfront community takes full advantage of its location in a pristine natural setting on the Ottawa River and along the Clarence Creek Wetland. The site is comprised of woodlots, rolling landscapes and wetland vistas which will be protected and integrated into the development wherever possible.

The overall concept is to create an urban village character with a vibrant village core. A mix of single detached, townhomes and medium-density dwellings are interlaced by a network of trails connecting distinct “Village” neighbourhoods with the natural amenities. Highlights of the development will be a pedestrian footbridge crossing Clarence Creek and connecting Village 1, on the western shore, to the rest of the future Villages, and a boat launch and marina.

The project allocates a total of 2500 homes to be built by eQ Homes in 5 phases. The first phase is well under construction, with Phase 1A and 1B occupied.  The final piece of Phase 1(c), which features a unique cul-de-sac orientation, will be serviced this summer with occupancy planned for 2019. Housing types comprise a mix of bungalow singles, 2-story singles, attached bungalows, 2-storey townhomes, and low-rise condominiums. Later releases will feature a selection of premium “privacy” oversized lots which backup onto dedicated greenspace. Unique planning elements include a network of nature trails with lookout vistas, tying the Villages together and culminating at a gazebo with a stunning view of scenic Clarence Creek.

With the inclusion of future attractive high-quality commercial and light industrial development on employment lands along County Road 17, Clarence Crossing truly is a complete community where people can live, work, shop and play.
